What to Know Before Renting Candles for Your Event
Before You Book: Why Planning Matters
If you have never rented candles for an event before, you might be surprised by how many details go into a great setup. It is not just about choosing a style you love. From safety requirements to logistics and lead times, there is a lot to consider. This guide walks you through the most important things to know before you book so you can feel confident from the start.
Real Flame vs. Flameless: Which Is Right for Your Event?
The first decision most clients face is whether to use real flame or flameless candles. Both have their place depending on your venue and vision. Real flame candles create an unmatched warmth and ambiance that flameless options cannot fully replicate. However, many venues in Southern California require permits or prohibit open flames entirely. Always check with your venue coordinator before booking. Flameless candles have come a long way. High-quality LED candles flicker realistically and look stunning in photographs. They are ideal for outdoor settings with wind, venues with strict fire codes, or events where children will be present.
How Far in Advance Should You Book?
For weekend events during peak wedding season (May through October), we recommend booking at least 60 to 90 days in advance. Popular dates fill quickly, especially for large installations or specialty pieces. For off-peak dates or smaller setups, 30 days is often sufficient, but earlier is always better to ensure availability of specific candle styles and quantities.
What Is Included in a Candle Rental?
Every rental includes delivery, setup, and breakdown by our team. You do not need to handle or move any of the pieces yourself. We arrive before guests and return after the event to collect everything. Candles are cleaned, inspected, and refreshed between each event. You will never receive a candle that looks used or worn.
What Information Should You Have Ready When You Inquire?
To get the most accurate quote, it helps to have a few details on hand before reaching out: your event date and venue name or city, estimated guest count, whether the event is indoors or outdoors, any venue restrictions on open flame, photos or inspiration images if you have them, and an idea of the look you are going for.
